England v Egypt debate: Is booing John Terry acceptable?

Shortly after kick-off against Egypt tonight, former England captain John Terry will find out whether the Wembley crowd cares about how the national team's players behave off the pitch. If fan forums are anything to go by, he's in for a rough ride, but is it acceptable for Wembley fans to boo England players?

Should the national team be able to count on unconditional support every time they pull on the Three Lions? Should patriotism override all other concerns, particularly as the abuse of Terry appears to have severely affected his form? And are booing fans being hypocritical in condemning a culture of wealth and women few of us would turn down?

Or do fans that support the team at great expense and with incredible loyalty have a right to voice their opinions? Should players who have the honour of representing England be expected to make "sacrifices" as Fabio Capello has said, and keep their noses clean?
