Ken Livingstone: I’m a Londoner first and foremost.

"I’m running to be Labour’s candidate for Mayor of London for one clear reason. If I am elected my focus will be to do everything I can to protect Londoners from the recession and the effects of the new government’s policies. I will use every lever to make sure our quality of life is protected and improved.

I’m a Londoner first and foremost. There’s nowhere I would rather be

Serious times require serious solutions that protect Londoners: to protect public services in London, create new jobs, make the streets safer, hold down fares, and build more affordable housing. To maintain London as one of the great cities of the world.

But to win I need your help.  I think this has the potential to be one of the best campaigns we have seen in London with a great prize for all of us – to get London on a better path. I hope you’ll join the campaign and work alongside me to make that possible."
